Writer-nim defends episode 20

To all reporters. Must you really do this? How could you cut (my) words in front and at the sides and then publish a report? ‘The last episode was so un-interesting my pride was hurt’? With an article title like that, I become a really bad person who doesn’t care about the hard work put in by all the actors and staff. That’s what the article about my interview with the Writer’s Association said.
(she quotes the article) “Episode 20 was not interesting. My standards of watching a drama depends on one criteria. Whether it’s interesting, or not. But it (ep 20) was not interesting. I wanted to end it in a more special way, I felt that an ending other than an ordinary expected one would be better. But there was not enough time. I hadn’t experienced it before, but after episode 15, there was really no time, I just handed in scripts as soon as I can. Seriously my pride was hurt.. to the point where if I watch this work again, I hate it.”
Interviewed by a member of the Writer’s Association on receiving the daesang (‘grand award’), the article ignored the major theme of ‘script’ (in the entire interview), and instead focused on giving a bad mark for my ‘script’ of episode 20, saying I avoided a special ending and chose an ordinary one. This is not about the drama. Regarding my pride being hurt, it’s typical for any writer to say that when the entire script is finished, how could this be interpreted so badly that it referred to me personally attacking the drama, it’s not about the drama being completed badly. Also regarding me not being able to watch the drama easily again. Why on earth are my compliments (to the drama) all cut off, and a report becomes published like that? It’s really a distressing night.
