Frankly, what struck me about this gag was the subway song. LOL. It’s probably funny that a subway song reminds you of home, but it does remind me of my times in Seoul. My “hometown song lyrics” were “This station is – Sadang Station.” My morning / evening commutes used to include another interchange, Chungmuro, too, but Sadang is the station where I can usually get seats. ^^;;

Here’s the latest tune (from 1st March 2009) to Seoul Metro’s subway lines 1-4, played when reaching interchanges. In it, dyou can hear the Korean traditional —

1) fiddle (haegeum 해금),

2) flute (daegeum 대금),

3) zither (kayageum 가야금)

4) hourglass-shaped drum (janggu 장구)

The tune is from the 9th Part of 얼씨구야 Aul sshi gu ya, a classical Korean piece by 28-year-old Kim Baek Chan.This composer was also responsible for the song “Ssang Hwa Jeom” in the 2008 movie of the same name (English title: The Frozen Flower).
