The following article is JUST one of many morbidly interesting speculations. The first time I saw the article picture, my mind went “Ra Im is so cute!” Enjoy the picture article! ^^;

Will Secret Garden go under the ‘Ha Ji Won Jinx’ too?

Original article by Economic Daily Star Today intern reporter Kim Yoo Jung

warning: Do not read if you intend to watch Ha Ji Won’s earlier works, predictable spoilers ahead! ^^;;

With only 4 episodes of SBS weekend drama ‘Secret Garden’ left, viewers are speculating on its ending.

One of the speculations that is attracting attention is about it’s female lead – the Ha Ji Won Jinx. Apparently everytime Ha Ji Won acts in a drama where she is the lead, other leading characters will either die, or go through painful suffering.

For example, in MBC drama ‘Damo’ (2003) which started the birth of many popular slang phrases, Ha Ji Won was lead character Chae Ok, a ‘damo’ (female detective) of a police bureau in the Choson Dynasty. Her co-stars met tragic endings, including police bureau sergeant (종사관) Hwang Bo Yoon (actor Lee Seo Jin) who couldn’t confess their feelings to each other due to their backgrounds, as well as her long lost brother Jang Sung Baek (actor Kim Min Joon).

In SBS drama ‘What Happened in Bali’ (2004), Ha Ji Won was female lead Lee Soo Jung, a character who lives her best despite life’s adversities. She was involved in a 3-sided love story, which includes her love Kang In Woo (actor So Ji Sub), 2nd generation chaebol Jung Jae In (actor Jo In Sung) who was the other guy, and they all died, leaving viewers with a huge impact.

In KBS2TV’s drama ‘Hwang Jin Yi’ (2006), while Ha Ji Won’s Hwang Jin Yi didn’t have to die, her co-stars weren’t spared and met tragic endings again. They include yangban noble Kim Eun Ho (actor Jang Geun Seok), who died of lovesickness; member of the royal family Byuk Gye Soo (Ryu Tae Joon) who spent the rest of his life venting his fury on other gisaengs after being rejected by Jin Yi; Jin Yi’s teacher Im Baek Moo (actress Kim Yeong Ae) who committed suicide; and Jin Yi’s husband Kim Jung Han (actor Kim Jae Won) who died due to Byuk Gye Soo’s sinister plot.

The Ha Ji Won Jinx also happened in her movies.

In ‘Fool’ (2008), Ha Ji Won’s character Ji Ho’s first love, silly Seung Ryung (actor Cha Tae Hyun) suffered an unjust death. In ‘My Love by My Side’ (2009), her Lee Ji Soo character’s husband Baek Jong Woo (actor Kim Myung Min) suffered from Lou Gehrig’s disease throughout the movie and died eventually.

However, viewers are not speculating a tragic ending for ‘Secret Garden’ just because of the Ha Ji Won Jinx. They have been focusing on some suggestive lines said during the drama to have also reached this possible conclusion.

Up till yesterday’s episode 16, clues such as Kim Ju Won’s ‘Little Mermaid’ story, Ah Yeong’s dream, action director Lim Jong Seok’s warning about car stunts being fatally dangerous, Ra Im’s dad being glad that Ra Im was unable to participate in the Dark Blood audition – all these have been speculated as a path towards a tragic ending.

Let’s await for 4 more episodes to see if Secret Garden will give viewers an ending to weep or rejoice.

On the other hand, Hyun Bin’s dramas all end well and alive, right? ^^;

    I didn’t read the article …

    Thought the PD sort of confirm that it’s going to be a happy ending. Anyways, sad or happy as long as they’re both in one place I’m happy. Oh, lets hope the writer don’t pull the Lovers in Paris type of ending — worst ending ever!

    hopefully, whatever happened in Bali stays in Bali.. and I would like to add to the list-in Daddy Long Legs, Ha Ji Won’s character’s sweetheart also died (played by Yun Jong Hoon) Thankfully though, in 100 Days with Mr Arrogant, Kim Jae Won’s character didn’t die. So there 🙂

    i hope happy ending in Secret Garden and yes to apdy, ending in Lovers in Paris is the worst.
    this jinx thing reminded me to Kim Nam Gil, he also always didn’t get his woman in QSD and Bad Guy, and in “Portrait of a Beauty”, and always died in the end, sigh.
    So, what will happen if we pair Ha Ji-won with Kim Nam-gil??? Just some thoughts ^^
